Sailing Area

The yacht is principally yours to sail where you wish for the length of your charter. We have some recommendations that will make your holiday somewhat safer.

Night sailing in Greece is not recommended, bouyage and lights are not as clear as in home waters.

Taking the yacht out in a prolonged force 6 (very unusual in the summer) could damage your crew and the boat. A steep irregular sea builds up and is quite unpleasant. Taking the yacht down the West Coasts of Lefkas and Kephalonia is not recommended. They are usually lee shores and there are no harbours or boltholes should the weather change.

The further you sail from Lefkas the longer it will take for us to get to you, in the unlikely event that you have a problem.

Sailing Experience

Insurance and Greek regulation ask for a minimum of I.C.C. International Certificate of Competence. It is also a very good idea to have a back up skipper, i.e. somebody who can safely return the yacht to port should the skipper be incapacitated.
